After a bit of a bumpy start (let's just say there was a little whining shall we by one of the littlest members of our clan...ahem), it was full steam ahead soon after.
The snow was like "pixie dust" according to Maelle. Pure magic I'd say!
The weather couldn't have been better for our adventure, blue skies (a first for us here, usually it is socked in and snowing every time we visit...still just as beautiful however!) and just above zero. The fresh air was awesome! If only you could bottle it up...
We only had one mountain rescue (and one nearly lost boot) today....Bree managed to get herself stuck in a bank of snow that came up to her waist, and got her snowshoe stuck under a small tree. Yes, I took a picture first, then offered my assistance! Bree (the crabby one at the beginning, oops I mentioned names!) turned into a fearless explorer today, spending more time off trail and literally in the trees for most of the day. Hence, the most likely reason that this happened!
We spent a good number of hours today frolicking around in the snow. It was beyond perfect (all grumpies aside....I mean afterall, how can you not love this place?) and the hoots and hollers and just plain old silliness had us all giddy for this place we love so much.
And silly....well, we do that very well!
