all is quiet

Can you guess which little lady this is??

Well....can you believe that I have all 4 (that's right....all 4) kids down for naps? SUCCESS! I didn't know that the house could be this quiet! What to do with this ever so precious time...update the blog. I am so sorry that it has been about a week since my last post. I have no idea where that week went. Actually...I do. It's called laundry, errands, laundry, cooking, cleaning, and did I mention laundry?? Good thing I like to do laundry....I just don't like the folding part. Usually Brent takes over here and when the kids have no clothes in their closets I can guarantee that their is always a fresh batch in the dryer!
Actually I am also waiting for the UPS man to deliver some fabric I ordered that should be here any day now, and I have been busy looking for our next house. Yep...we are hoping to move shortly into a bit of a larger house. We have a great realtor so in the near future I hope to have found that perfect "a little bit bigger" house. We have started to purge our house now with the hopes of getting a storage locker for all of the "stuff" that doesn't need to be here. It's really hard de-personalizing a house. We have been here for almost 8 years, and already I have a lump in my throat thinking about closing up and locking the door for the last time. Wierd. Anyways, had better toddle and get some productive cleaning done. I bet you their is also some laundry in my dryer waiting to be folded too.

The answer to my question above: Bree!

off we go!

To take advantage of some really warm temperatures (weather that has now left us and would you believe it is currently snowing....arrrggh) we decided to spend Tuesday afternoon at the zoo. This was our first "big" adventure out into the world with Jenna and Bree. What fun we had!
We have learned through past zoo experience that it is better to visit later in the day as the animals are more active. This was definitely the case yesterday! We have a koala exhibit on now and seeing that it was not busy we popped in to visit these lovable little creatures. Check out the pic below...

Way too cute!

This photo op was too much fun to pass up.

Even the baby gorilla was putting on a bit of a show for everyone. Aidan and Maelle were full of giggles watching this little one scamper about.

An afternoon at the zoo equals two tuckered out toddlers, two exhausted little girls and a tired dad too! Oh....and mom!

capturing moments

A few moments that were captured over the last few days...
We are starting to see a lot more smiles from Bree and Jenna. However, the biggest smiles are often given to Aidan and Maelle! Love that!!
That's Aidan in the picture talking to a grinning Bree!

Bath tub antics still occur late in the day!

And...check out this video that Brent took of Aidan and Maelle singing to Bree and Jenna. You may want to scroll down to the bottom of this page and turn down my playlist music. The song is the Itsy Bitsy Spider! Crank up your volume and have a little listen!

Our Easter weekend was...

full of amazing weather...
full of a few good naps for these sleeping beauties...

full of lots of smiles...
full of tonnes of Easter goodies...

full of splashing in the "lake" that was once our ice rink.

full of just a little bit of mischief

and wouldn't be complete without two of the cutest bunnies around.
Hope your Easter weekend was full of just as much fun and excitement!

warm fuzzies

So I realized that when I was uploading these pics to the blog that they really have nothing at all in common. Except the fact that both of them gave me "warm fuzzies" as the title of this post suggests. The first pic is of a few Rice Krispie Easter eggs that I made with Aidan and Maelle. If you have never been to the Rice Krispie's website, I suggest you check it out as soon as you can. I can see us going through quite a few boxes of Krispies in the next little while and the same with bags of marshmallows. There are some fantastic recipes and these eggs were sooo good!

The next pic is of a project that Aidan did at school that I am so proud of (as was he!). It is a Jungle Adventure Passport and it has a few hand drawn animals in it (that Aidan did all by himself) and the written word for each animal. I LOVE this project! It has to be one of my most favourites. One thing that has amazed me with the whole pre-school experience is seeing how much Aidan has learned and how much his art has improved over the course of the last several months. I love the fact that he can now sit down with his sketch book or at the easel and can draw people and animals how he sees them through his eyes. Fantastic!

How cool is that?!
I have flipped through this book so many times and each time it makes me smile. I think I may try and see if he can make one of the animals at the zoo. Talk about a fun project! Now...I just need to make a trip to my favourite scrapbook store and pick up that little blank book I saw now that I have a good use for it!! Maybe I'll pick up a Starbuck's on the way too! Brent should be fine with all 4 kids right?

good times

Can you believe that Bree and Jenna are already one month old?
I must say, that I did think having two babies at the same time would be crazy, crazy, crazy, and even though we have had the odd insane moment, things have gone relatively smooth. I think a special thanks to Brent is due here! Without him I may not be as sane as I am right now! So...thank you so much Brent for all of your help and support. You are a great dad and an awesome hubby!

Both Jenna and Bree have become fascinated with the toys hanging from their toy bars. It's fun to watch them become more aware of their surroundings, and try to figure out how to grasp and reach for objects.

We have been quite busy with the day to day of having newborns around here, but we are making sure to spend some extra quality time with Aidan and Maelle. I took advantage of the girls' naptime the other day to make a few Easter cookies. I am not sure, but I think more cookie dough was gobbled up than what made it onto the cookie sheets.

Nonetheless, good fun was had by all, and what was even more fun was enjoying some freshly baked cookies right out of the oven.

Even Dakota had a special "bonding" moment. I think she has adapted quite well with Jenna and Bree don't you?
All in all, things are going quite well here, and we are looking forward to the upcoming warmer weather in hopes that we can get everyone outside. Maybe spring is just right around the corner afterall!
